What is your cancellation policy?

 

We will do our best to refund as much as possible if you have to cancel your tours or other services with Italy Hotline. Because we work with the top service providers in Italy, we are also subject to a diverse set of cancellation policies with each private contract. Thus, it is not possible for us to guarantee the same cancellation policy for all services. Below is a general summary of our cancellation policy. If you must cancel your booking with us, please give us as much notice as possible. We consider every situation personally. That said, in order to fully protect yourself, we highly recommend purchasing Trip Insurance in order to protect yourself from unwanted cancellations and fees that may be incurred. Please note that discounted tours are non-refundable. Tours booked within two weeks of the starting date are non-refundable. 

Tours: For our regular walking tours, the tour price (tickets excluded) is 50% refundable with at least 2 weeks notice. 
Custom Designed Tours: Custom designed tours are 70% refundable with at least one month's notice, and 50% refundable with at least two week's notice (minus bank service charges if any). Zero refund can be offered with less than 10 day's notice. 
Trip Planning Fees:  For custom designed trip planning, the retainer/ itinerary planning fees are absolutely non-refundable. 

Tickets: Pre-booked tickets cannot be refunded. Some tickets may be transferred to another date with advanced notice. 
Cooking Classes: Cooking classes are booked with the top chefs in Italy and we have to pay them in advance in order to secure their services. Each person that we work with has a different policy regarding cancellations. For this reason we highly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance in order to protect yourself from non-refundable cancelled classes. In some cases we may be able to secure a refund, fitting with the same terms as with our walking tours, but this cannot be guaranteed. 
Limitation of liability:  We are not liable for anything other than the costs of the services purchased.

Under no circumstances will Italy Hotline LLC be liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such losses where foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise): (a) loss of data; (b) loss of revenue or anticipated profits; (c) loss of business; (d) loss of opportunity; (e) loss of goodwill or injury to reputation; (f) losses suffered by third parties; or (g) any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of Italy Hotline LLC services regardless of the form of action.

Italy Hotline LLC accepts no responsibility for any sickness, accidents, pilferage, labor disputes, machinery breakdown, government restrains, acts of war and/or terrorism, weather conditions, defect in any vehicle of transportation or for any misadventure or casualty or any other causes beyond their control. This is not limited to, but may include, a) the closure of venues which Italy Hotline LLC tours visits, where and when the closure of that venue is out of the control of Italy Hotline LLC or where Italy Hotline LLC is not notified by the Venue with ample time to notify the clients, which may be due to inclement weather, manifestations and protests or simply the last-minute decision of the venue. b) the inability of our tour to access certain monuments/areas and/or venues due to restrictions caused by excessive traffic, inclement weather, manifestations and protests or due to that area being restored/under construction or covered/obstructed from public view.

Chauffeured Tours:  We work with several of the top chauffeur companies in Italy. If booking a chauffeured tour or transfer, please read our chauffeured tours cancellation policy.

Washington State compliance: Italy Hotline LLC is licensed in the State of Washington and complies fully with the requirements of RCW 19.138 governing the conduct of sellers of travel.
Travel Insurance: We recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover all costs of tours, airline tickets, hotels and other expenses in case you must cancel a trip for whatever reason.
